2200 Miles to Free Oil Change

May 23, 2007 on 11:16 am | In Recent Posts | 2 Comments

Today GP0154 passed 8888 miles and according to the computer she’s only 2200 miles away from MINI’s first free oil change under the maintenance plan.   GP0154 had here oil changed at 5k miles when she got back from MTTS and again a few weeks back at 8k miles.   MINI may find every 10 - 15k mile oil changes acceptable but I prefer every 3-4k miles.

May 15, 2007 on 2:59 pm | In MINI UNITED 2007, Recent Posts | 4 Comments

Looks like MINI USA is at it again and offering a USA Owners event as part of the MINI United event being held in Amsterdam on June 22nd - 24th.

Extert from the MINI USA Site…..

Welcome! MINI United is back and this summer we’re throwing an adrenaline soaked bonanza of on track thrills and off track partying for MINI aficionados from all corners of the globe. Two years ago we took the Italian resort of Misano Adriatico by storm. This year we’re going Dutch - to the sunny beaches and legendary race track of Zandvoort. So jet setters, get set, it’s off to Holland we go.

We invite you to join MINI USA and your fellow MINI owners at the MINI United Festival in Amsterdam from June 22-24, 2007. Thousands of MINI fans from around the world are expected to converge at Circuit Park Zandvoort outside of Amsterdam for a weekend of friends, festival and challenges like no other.

We know this means you will have to be parted from your MINI for a few days, but to ease your separation anxiety, MINI USA has put together a package of events exclusively for US participants. All you have to do to be eligible to participate is register through this web site for a hotel package at the official MINI USA Festival Headquarters: the Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre. Do so and you will secure your slot with the yanks as we storm Holland.

MINI USA’s Exclusive Program Additions
By registering for the USA program in addition to MINI United, you will be invited to these bonus events:

  • Commemorative gifts and lots of goodies
  • Friday night Welcome Reception and Dinner in Amsterdam
  • Daily shuttle service from the Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre to MINI United at Zandvoort (a must since you’ll have to leave your wheels behind!)
  • Access to a MINI for use on track at Zandvoort

here is a link to the Registration website.  You must registered by end of day today so if you are planning on coming hurry up.

GP1717 joins Aero Grill Club

May 13, 2007 on 6:17 am | In Recent Posts | No Comments

GP1717 received some welcomed upgrades.  Carbon Fiber Scoop, Shift Knob, Rear Hatch handle, Red GP scoop lettering and the Aero Grill.   GP1717 will be the only one getting the Aero grill.  Gp0154 cant as it would mean difficult relocation of some needed radar equipment.  Gp1415 will remain completely stock.

Goodbye Cooper S hello GP1717

May 12, 2007 on 6:11 am | In Recent Posts | 1 Comment

Well today was a rather sad day as Jayne’s 04 S lease ended and we dropped it off a the dealer.  On the positive side she is now driving GP1717 otherwise she’d still be driving the S

It was only appropriate for us to give MINI S a bath (albeit her first automatic car wash while we owned her) so she looked her best.

Here she is at the dealer, I could swear I saw tears as we pulled away in GP1717.

Hopefully someone will give her a good home.

Back in London - New MINI Colors

May 5, 2007 on 10:21 pm | In Recent Posts | No Comments

Was back in the UK for a short weekend getaway and no trip to London would be complete if I did not stop by Park Lane MINI and greet the MINI friends.  In the showroom was one of the new colors.

While in london I caught the new IMAX showing of Roving Mars and also wasted 16GBP on the new Star Wars Exhibition.  Was never a big Star Wars fan though enjoyed the movies.  (more a trekie).

Also Dali was resurrected from the dead to stand in front of the Dali Universe Exhibit and London is never dull.  Plenty of folks putting on a show for some change

Hammer & Coop Buddy Workout

May 1, 2007 on 5:30 pm | In Hammer & Coop, Recent Posts | No Comments

Here is the long anticipated Hammer & Coop Buddy work out system.  Here is one more way your MINI can help you better your life.

What better way to work out then with your MINI.   There is no GP version of the workout so I made some adjustments to put the big carbon fiber wing to better use.
