Baby makes two! Classics that is!
November 2, 2007 on 8:04 pm | In Classic Mini, Recent Posts |I headed back to Holland to visit my newest addition to the family. A 2000 Tahiti Blue Rover Cooper Sport Final Edition with 1576 miles and flawless. The Tahiti Blue joins the other T blue cars - Thunder Blue GP and Tobago Blue 850CSi.
Although this one is not one of the final 500 it is still exclusive in that it is part of the 2500 Final Edition Cooper Sports produced and this one was never released to the public! It had been in the possession of BMW UK and registered/titled as such and used as a Press/Events Car. It appears that BMW UK had maintained about a dozen Classic Mini’s that were used as Press/Events cars with some having MINI United 2005 Press stickers on them.
This one is one of three cars that were badged with the 40th Anniversary Monte Carlo insignia by BMW and used in the 2004 celebration events along with a green one and red one. Her sister the green one which is one number lower in vin and plate sequence was also available and I was tempted but with six other cars in the stable I’m having space constraints and running out of bubbles.
Riverhouse MINI is about 120 km east of Schipol and during the drive out I spotted several MINI’s and once I got out of the city it was a rather enjoyable ride through the gorgeous dutch countryside.

Hey George, I think a Moke should be in your future. How did you find out about these cars? Very koooool! Shipping expensive?
BTW, one of my daughters and family live in Holland. Nice people and nice country. She live in the Hollywood of Holland, Hilversum.
Vacation?
Can I ask how much?
Why don’t you come out for the LA Auto Show and stay with Kittie and I?

That first picture makes the TB Mini look like a toy on a shelf!
Proper right-hand drive
So where will this one “live”?

Hi Robert,
I had inquired with Riverhouse a few months about some other classics and when he obtained these he sent the list to his clients.
How much? I could have bought a new S though shipping wasn’t all that bad at under $1k.
Would love to come out and visit but are in the midsts of construction at the house redoing the downstairs and kitchen.
Hi Ian,
yes, finally a proper RHD car, exclusive and blue. Can’t ask for more then that. Where is it going to live? I have no idea where to put but keep eyeing the dining room if I can find a way to raise it four feet through the future sliding doors.

Oh - it’s not staying in Europe then?!
Comment by Ian C. — November 11, 2007 #
No, not this one. She is too pristine to keep there and drive. she’ll be another museum piece though I am still keen on getting a car to keep in europe but somehow a RHD GP might make more sense then a classic. Will see what unfolds after the home construction project is completed.

Nice find, George! I am talking with Riverhouse about one of the new Mokes he has. Did you see any while there? I am wondering how the company, et al were to deal with, etc…. Shipping and delivery to you coming soon, I assume.
Congratulations!

Yes, he had a pair in the shop. they look really cool. So far he’s been great to deal with and very accommodating. Can comment on the whole transaction once the lil one arrives and its at home if the 2nd half of the transaction goes as smooth as the first half.
If you have an inkling of going over there to check them out in person let me know. Always looking for an excuse to travel overseas.
