British Invasion Day 1 - Planes, Minis and Ice Cream
September 14, 2007 on 11:00 pm | In British Invasion, Recent Posts |Today we got Nigel and the bears ready and headed up to Stowe, Vermont to attend British Invasion in GP1717. On our way there we decided to stop at the New England Air Museum but not before stopping to visit the McShuttle.
GP snuck in the back while we went inside to check out the planes. Nigel and Blue Bear were everywhere and it wasn’t just an air museum as they also had some motorcyles and cars in addition to the planes and helicopters.
Blue Bear found something that suited his size and tried to hide by blending into this motorcycle.
Nigel and Blue bear rode around on the Indian while we headout outside to see the other planes.
On our way out we stopped at the Fire Training Academy where Nigel and Blue Bear got some Fire fighting training.
Then we continued north and stopped at the Vermont Country Store which had an array of products you just can’t find in your local shop and had that feeling of stepping back in time.
They had a wide variety of samplings that just about filled me up but we still setup lunch for Nigel, the bears and GP before heading back out.
No trip to Stowe would be complete without stopping at Ben & Jerry’s. We stopped and took Nigel and the Bears through the tour and got them some ice cream. GP1717 reached another milestone at 5555 miles and ultimately broke 6,000 miles at the end of the weekend….time for another oil change.
Once we got to Stowe we headed straight to the field to get our registration material before meeting up with Ian and Margaret for a nice British Dinner. On the field was a double decker that served ice cream and a Mini Carousel.
