Classic Weekend, Mokes & Mini Hauler
December 9, 2007 on 7:00 pm | In Classic Mini |I spent the weekend in Florida visiting my folks and my little darling. When I arrived Friday night I uncovered her and realized I never put the battery tender on after putting her away from coming back from Mickie & Mini event in September. I figured the battery was dead but to my pleasant surprise the alarm disarm chimed and she fired up like the day I put her away.
Saturday morning I took her to DJMINIS for an oil service and tune-up and closer look at her flawless undercarriage.
Later in the afternoon she got four new rubber soles for her paws that really transformed her into a new car. I had vibrations at speeds and she was rather noisy. Several folks commented that the Rover Sportpack has an inherit vibration due to the wider 13″ wheels but once I shed those 10 year old dry-rotted, flat-spotted Dunlop’s in favor of a new set of Yokohama A539 that I ordered from MiniMania she rides as smooth as butter and is so much quieter.
While I was at DJMINI’s. I looked around at the cars he had there. An old Wolseley Hornet,
Some other classics for sale and Diones wife’s RHD Classic with MiniSport Stage 1 kit which I took for a spin and found the increased +-30hp that the kit provides really helps transform the car. It provides a nice boost in hp/torque throughout the range and will be looking to upgrade my classic to either this kit or perhaps the 90hp John Cooper kit. She needs a little boost to help compensate for the what the A/C robs.
While I was waiting Bob showed up in his recently restore Green Moke to get his timing checked
And if you thought the Classic small how about a Classic Mini Hauler? And here I was worried about hauling a classic with my GP.
Sunday morning I got up and took her down to the beach and Tarpon Springs where she ran into some Classic MG from the ‘Nature Coast English Car Club’.
Came back home, gave her a bath, a wax and put her to sleep until I visit again. xoxox Daddy

Hey, is that a Tommy Bahama rug? If yes, that’s too much.
