Summer Splash 2007
August 19, 2007 on 7:00 pm | In Summer Splash 2007 |Today we took Nigel and the Bears in GP1717 and headed up to Norwalk, CT to attend Summer Splash 2007 and what a fun day it was.
When we arrived Peter had arranged for all the GPs and Classics to park in his driveway. When we pulled in there was Peter and GP1636 to greet us.
Then GPs started to arrive….Sherman in GP0433, Mark in GP1673 and Gary and Heidi in GP0076
Ian in GP0203 and Jeff in GP0239 (no thats not Jeff that’s Nigel)
There were also three classics in attendance.
Nigel and the Bears were up and about mingling and Nigel wanted to play but Petie paid him no mind.
Well it was getting close to lunch and we could smell the grill so we headed out back and got in queue for some most awesome bratwurst! After lunch it was time for the lawn event where GP owners Mark, Jeff and Heidi cleaned up winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Then it was down the road for the car show where you really got to appreciate how many people were in attendance and although GP0154 couldn’t make it her R/C did.
R/C GP0154 and Sherman’s two R/C GPs getting ready to duke it out and even a monkey got to drive but at the end of the day the R/C GP0154 came in 1st and Sherman’s GP got 2nd in R/C races to continue the GP wins.
After some cool door prize drawings it was time to cut the cake GP Anniversary cake which was great to be able to share the special day with the other GP owners and everyone in attendance. The cake was well recieved and did not last long and Ian got to enjoy the last GP bite.
Then it was time for the Scavenger hunt and GP0076, GP0203, GP0239 and GP1717 parents grouped together to form a one awesome team that won 2nd place. One of the tasks was getting a picture of your team in a convertible. Well Jeff and I quickly tracked down ’Daisy’ whilst the rest of the team caught up with us and then we were able to take the group shot. With all our GP brainpower and Jeff’s local knowledge we were able to complete all but two tasks without ever having to leave the parking lot. Our last two tasks… a menu for a watering hole and a picture of one team member with a stranger and a live chicken. Yes a live chicken.
Near the end of the day all the GP owners got together for a group picture and then five of us were off to Cold Stone for some ice cream. It was great to meet Peter, Sherman and Mark and to see Jeff, Gary and Heidi and Ian again. Gary and Heidi, GP0154 was so happy hear that her sister was healthy and back on the road again and loved her birthday card and hopes to see her soon.

Hi guys,
Great write-up !
Just a quick correction, it’s “Fleur”, “Daisy” has pink stripes (and won 2nd on the vote).
But anyway, glad we could help
Cheers,
Volker & Marion
